Good Afternoon, Pirate Families,
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Castle of Cans Food Drive. Between monetary funds or food items submitted, we broke 1100 donations. Amazing job! Therefore, Mr. Byrd will be made into a human sundae at our team awards when we celebrate first quarter achievements in a few days.
Speaking of the first quarter, it ends this Thursday. Please have your child double-check his/her grades on Infinite Campus each day to make sure everything is turned in.
On October 30, the RBMS Sunshine Club and RBMS PTO will provide the Pirate staff with its annual Halloweenie Luncheon. If anyone would care to contribute to this event, please go to this

In a few weeks, we will be starting up winter sports. Please see the above flyer for information regarding basketball tryouts.

Monday, October 12--Last day of the Book Fair. Cross Country @ Murrays Mill (4:15, girls first).

Tuesday, October 13--GEAR-UP field trip for selected 8th graders. Soccer / Volleyball AWAY vs. Jacobs Fork (4pm).

Wednesday, October 14--Football HOME vs. Grandivew (6:00, at Bunker Hill High).

Friday, October 16--No school for students.
On Thursday of this week, RBMS will take part in the Great Southeast Shakeout, an earthquake awareness drill. Our teachers will be reviewing the
safety procedures with our students for possible earthquakes in addition to going over what to do in case we go under a tornado warning. Please talk to your child about taking such practices seriously because our kids' safety is our top priority.
