Good Afternoon, Pirate Families,
Recently, the principal at Mill Creek Middle School set forth the challenge to see which school would have the best attendance from Thanksgiving to Christmas between our two schools. Please assist us in defeating Mill Creek by helping get our kids here each day ready to learn. We have a short time between now and the end of the quarter, and our teachers would love to have their students as much as possible during this time to help the kids gain new skills and content knowledge.
The Beta Club's Annual Snow Ball will take place on the evening of Friday, January 23, from 6pm-8pm. To attend, students must have been in school that day and not have have any office referrals for negative behaviors during the third quarter, which starts January 6. There will be concessions. Students may "dress to impress," as long as they remain in dress code.
The RBMS Scholastic Book Fair will run through December 12. Here is a link to our
page for more information.
The Catawba County Schools Education Foundation is running the "Holly Jolly Half & Half Cash for a Cause" fundraiser again this year. This organization uses its funds to support our students and teachers through providing scholarships and grants. If you'd like to stand a chance to win some cash, please go to the
50/50 website to enter. The drawing will take place at 2pm on Friday, December 19.

The continued support from parents/guardians in holding high expectations for our students at River Bend will pay huge dividends in what our students may produce this year. We appreciate all you do to help ensure that we are keeping our kids on the right track for future academic successes and for being ready for the workplace and/or school once they graduate.
Thank you, and have a wonderful week!
Go, Pirates!
