NEWTON, September 4, 2024 --The 2023-24 North Carolina state test results show continued gains for students across most grades and subjects according to the 2023-24 state test results presented to the State Board of Education today. Catawba County Schools performs well, shows increases in growth and proficiency.
On May 30, 2024, Catawba County Schools celebrated its dedicated employees during the district-wide "Finish Line Fuel Up" event at CVCC's Tarlton Complex. The event saw enthusiastic participation from all CCS employees, who brought their best school spirit to the celebration.

NEWTON, September 5, 2023 --State test results from the 2022-23 school year presented to the State Board of Education show that North Carolina students continued to recover ground lost to the COVID pandemic, with gains across virtually all grades, subjects, and student subgroups. Foard’s JROTC Leadership Team, comprising of Damon C., Mason B., Noah G.and Tanner Q., is one of forty teams nationwide to earn a coveted position in the Championship event of the JROTC Leadership Bowl in Washington, DC. NEWTON, November 28, 2024 – Catawba County Schools Superintendent Dr. Matt Stover proudly announced the appointment of Angie Davis as the district’s new Chief Financial Officer, filling the position vacated by Karla Aldridge, who is retiring after 32 years of dedicated service. The school board confirmed Davis’s selection at Monday night’s Board of Education meeting.
